Helping Paws breeds and trains purebred Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers. We rely on these breeds for their natural desire to work with people, their retrieving instinct, their ease of care and their friendly dispositions.

Our breeding dogs complete two years of service dog training to evaluate and ensure their response to environmental stimuli, retrieving instinct and general trainability. They live in homes with their caretaker families who also complete the two years of training with the dogs. Caretaker homes whelp and raise the litter until the puppies are approximately 8 weeks old. At this point the puppies are placed with foster home trainers who will guide them through the training process.

If you are interested in becoming a caretaker home, please read our guidelines and complete an application. You may also read the stories of caretaker homes for three litters on our blog, The People Behind the Puppies. Thank you!
