The training and matching of a service dog is a long labor of love, taking about 2 ½ years to complete. It requires thousands of specialized volunteer hours and an investment of about $30,000, which covers the costs of operating the training facility, program development, volunteer training and support, and lifelong support for each working team, as well as the direct costs of lifelong veterinarian bills, training equipment, and other expenses associated with the dogs.
There are several ways to donate at Helping Paws:
Donation – Blue Coat Circle
Helping Paws relies on financial support to place more dogs with people who need them. The costs of raising and training service dogs from puppyhood continue to rise. We estimate that costs for each dog exceed $30,000. Thank you for your support, on every level!
Sponsor a Litter
Blue Coat Benefactors help support the care and training of litters of puppies. We keep you updated on the progress of each puppy in the litter, as they journey through training classes and up to the match with their lifelong partners. Blue Coat Benefactors are a true gift to those we serve, as they offer us the opportunity to match as many dogs as possible. Sponsorship levels begin at $250 and continue as much as the sponsor wishes to offer.
