Join us for the 2023 Tail Waggin’ Dinner – Bringing It All Back Home! This year holds special significance as we commemorate our organization’s remarkable 35-year journey and the volunteer foster home trainers and caretaker homes who made and still make it possible. On October 21, 2023, we invite you to celebrate the occasion with an evening filled with delightful company, heartwarming stories and a trip through memory lane.
We are “Bringing It All Back Home” by hosting the event at the Mcnamara Alumni Center on the University of Minnesota campus. Helping Paws began in 1985 as a pilot project of the University of Minnesota’s Center for the Study of Human-Animal Relationships and Environment (CENSHARE), and became an independent nonprofit in 1988.
To mark the milestone, we’re honoring 35 years of volunteer foster home trainers and caretaker homes at this year’s gala. Your presence and support will help us continue our unwavering commitment of providing assistance dogs to our community. So mark your calendars, dust off your finest attire, and join us for an unforgettable evening of joy, compassion, and gratitude.
ACTIVITIES AND SCHEDULE 5:00-6:45 pm – Reception
Reception, cash bar and silent auction. Enjoy butler passed hors d’oeuvres while meeting and greeting our graduate teams and assistance dogs in training. Try your luck at games and raffles while also taking a trip down memory lane as we celebrate 35 years. 7:00 pm – Dinner 7:45 pm – Program
A celebration of 35 years of caretaker homes and foster home trainers with remarks and presentation by graduate Angie Folie, performances by Michael Paul (Saturday Night Live and America’s Got Talent), live auction and meet our newest litter of puppies!
